Can I catch an STD from a male masturbator sex toy?
I purchased a male masturbator sex toy new from an adult store, but I noticed there was a pubic hair (not mine) on the packaging after I used the sex toy. I think someone might have used it and returned it to the store but I'm not sure. Can I catch an STD from a male masturbator sex toy? Should I be tested?
You say there was a pubic hair on the packaging. How can you be sure it was a pubic hair? If it was on the packaging why would you think someone had used the toy?
If you are concerned that the toy has been used, return it to the shop and ask for a replacement. It is unlikely that you will catch a disease from a sex toy unless it had been used very recently - within the last few hours.
Even so, it is good practise to wash sex toys before and after use to avoid contamination.
If you feel concerned that you may have an STD, visit your doctor for a blood test.
